Commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum, Mothership UK was asked to create a video for ‘Warrior Treasures’, a temporary exhibition featuring incredible artefacts of gold from the world famous Staffordshire Hoard. The Staffordshire Hoard is the largest collection of Anglo-Saxon gold items ever found.
Our video features Stuart Makin, a blacksmith/artist, who was commissioned to create a large steel sculpture responding to items displayed in the exhibit. Original music for the film was composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (BBC’s Fleabag; War and Peace).
The sculpture, our film and the gold were all on display to the public at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds for over three months across the summer of 2016.
We shot the video in 4K UltraHD on Sony FS7 and Panasonic GH4 cameras using our Atomos Ninja Assassin monitor/recorder unit and Canon L series lenses.
